TO SHROOM OR NOT TO SHROOM...

Writer's picture: Kris CalmeseKris Calmese

Mushrooms are rich in the B vitamins: riboflavin, niacin, and pantothenic acid. The combination helps protect heart health. Riboflavin is good for red blood cells. Niacin is good for the digestive system and for maintaining healthy skin. White buttons are a great source of vitamin D, to promote healthy bones, teeth and muscles.

Shown below are my "regulars": shiitake, portobello and white button:

Some others, that have incredible benefits are:

* Morels - highest content of vitamin D of all edible mushrooms, and offers vitamins and nutrients that promote a healthy heart.

* Chicken of the woods - inhibit certain bacteria, and inhibits absorption of nutrients into cancer cells.

* Hen of the woods - stimulate the immune system, balance blood sugar and lipid levels, and phytochemicals that help the fight against tumors.

* Lion's Mane - helps reduce the internal affect of anxiety, depression, excessive stress.

Make sure you cook them!😁

Shout out to the mushroom, a REAL health POWERHOUSE!
